Chart Analysis:
- Paul Newman:

The USS Bunker Hill to which Paul Newman was assigned as a radioman-gunner. He could not take up this assignment due to an ear inflection which saved his life
Background:
Paul Newman had his Bhrigu Bindu in Vishakha in the 11th house. He played with fire as part of the US Navy (and survived) and also led the life of Indra as part of the Hollywood elite. Saturn the lord of the 2H and the 3H was also conjunct with the Bhrigu Bindu in the 11H of gains. The lord of the 11H, Venus (entertainment & Guru Shukracharaya) was posited in the Lagna in Purva Ashadha conjunct with Jupiter (Deva Guru) with Mercury (10L) also in Purva Ashadha. The connection of the 10L , Mercury, gave him success in many professions (monkey element) ranging from the US Navy, Hollywood, Racing Driver, Team Owner, Businessman, Environmentalist and many others.
Interpretation:
- Aparajita: As a radioman-gunner, Paul Newman was ordered aboard the USS Bunker Hill with a draft of replacements shortly before the Battle of Okinawa in the spring of 1945. His pilot’s ear infection (Sun the lord of the 9H in Shravana – ear and Ketu the 12L in Sharavana – ear) kept his plane grounded while the rest of their squadron continued to the aircraft carrier. Days later the rest of their unit on the USS Bunker Hill were among those killed when the ship was the target of a kamikaze attack. So, his ear infection caused by Ketu in Shravana was the reason of his not dying in the kamikaze attack which was also the cause of his good fortune (sun the 9L in Shravana). He remained Aparajita!
- Mythical Sea Creatures: The beaches on this island archipelago are literally heaped with shells, two hundred species in all.
(Paul Newman’s eye at Bowman Beach, Sanibel Island, Florida)
These include unusual specimens like banded tulips, with their concentric brown bands, and shark’s eyes, also known as Paul Newman’s eyes because they spiral into a bright blue centre.
- Lead a celibate life: Newman was married to Jackie Witte from 1949 to 1958. Newman met actress Joanne Woodward in 1953. In 1957, he divorced Witte. He married Woodward early in 1958. They remained married for fifty years, until his death in 2008. The Newmans moved away from Hollywood in the late 1960s, making their home in Westport, Connecticut. Newman was well known for his devotion to his wife and family. When once asked about infidelity, he famously quipped, “Why go out for a hamburger when you have steak at home?”
- The invincible Star: At the age of 70 years and eight days, Newman became the oldest driver to date to be part of a winning team in a major sanctioned race, winning in his class at the 1995 24 Hours of Daytona.
- Fame/Wealth/Charity: Newman’s Own line of salad dressings, condiments and lemonade is more than just delicious.
With 100 percent of the proceeds going to charity, Newman’s Own has distributed more than $370 million to various causes.

Near water is a theme from Purva Ashadha. This private island (Mago Island, Fiji) is one of the homes of Mel Gibson – who owned home around the world
Background:
Mel Gibson has his Bhrigu Bindu in Bharani Nakshatra. The ruling planet in Venus which rules over the kidneys. Bharani is also represented by the twins Yama and Yami. Mel Gibson’s Bhrigu Bindu Rasi lord, Mars, is in the 6H of disease. Mel Gibson has the rare horse shoe kidney where the kidneys are conjoint to look like one giant kidney.
Interpretation:
- Charity: The Sun also stands for children. Purva Ashadha represents charity. Gibson and his former wife have contributed a substantial amount of money to various charities, one of which is Healing the Children. According to Cris Embleton, one of the founders, the Gibsons gave millions to provide lifesaving medical treatment to needy children worldwide
- Want to win at any cost: Gibson gained a reputation in Hollywood for professionalism and punctuality such that Lethal Weapon 2 director Richard Donner was shocked when Gibson confided that he was drinking five pints of beer for breakfast. In 1992, Gibson provided financial support to Hollywood’s Recovery Center, saying, “Alcoholism is something that runs in my family. It’s something that’s close to me. People do come back from it, and it’s a miracle.”
- Decisions keep changing: Gibson considered becoming a chef or journalist, but ended up taking a different career path after his sister submitted an application on his behalf to the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Sydney, and he decided to audition. After conquering the stage, Gibson tried his hand at television, landing his first role on the Australian series The Sullivans. Mel Gibson then turned to the director’s chair for his next project, an ambitious film about the final 12 hours of Jesus Christ’s life entitled The Passion of the Christ. He also became a property investor with multiple properties in Malibu, California, several locations in Costa Rica, a private island in Fiji and properties in Australia.
- Sun in Purva Ashadha: Purva Ashdha’s theme is Leader. Mel Gibson’s father (Sun) served as a First Lieutenant in the Pacific Theatre during World War II after his September 30, 1941, graduation from the U.S. Army Signal Corps OCS program at Fort Monmouth, New Jersey. He was wounded by Japanese fire in action at the Battle of Guadalcanal and sent to a nursing home in 1944.
- Creates a lot of energy: Sun (father) is in Purva Ashadha. Mel Gibson’s father is an outspoken critic, both of the post-Vatican II Roman Catholic Church and of those Traditionalist Catholics, like the Society of Saint Pius X, who reject Sedevacantism. Gibson (Sr.) is also a proponent of various conspiracy theories. In a 2003 interview he questioned how the Nazis could have disposed of six million bodies during the Holocaust and claimed that the September 11, 2001 attacks were perpetrated by remote control. He has also been quoted as saying the Second Vatican Council was “a Masonic plot backed by the Jews”.
- Sun in Purva Ashadha: Sun in Uttara Kalamarita is described as the ‘Ruler of Airspace’ and Sky Control’. Purva Ashadha is about victory and leadership, energy. Mel Gibson produced and starred in Air America where he plays the role of a pilot ruling the airspace over Vietnam transporting drugs and guns

- Johnny Carson:

Johnny Carson in his 4 acre Malibu Estate in 1986 which overlooked the Pacific Ocean
Background:
Johnny Carson began his career as a magician (Guru Shukracharaya was playing the lead role then). Johnny Carson started his entertainment career young, working as a magician in Nebraska. After purchasing a magic kit and book at twelve and doing much practice, he soon began performing (and getting paid to do so) at events such as county fairs and Kiwanis Club meetings. He continued his magical career during college after he served in World War II and took advantage of the G.I. Bill, while at the same time preparing for a career in radio and writing (when Deva Guru Brihaspati began asserting his role)
Interpretation:
- Aparajita: John William “Johnny” Carson was an American television host, comedian, writer, producer, actor, and musician, best known for his thirty years as host of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson (1962–1992). Carson received six Emmy Awards, the Governor’s Award, and a 1985 Peabody Award. He was inducted into the Television Academy Hall of Fame in 1987. Johnny Carson was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 1992 and received a Kennedy Center Honor in 1993. Although his show was already successful by the end of the 1960s, during the 1970s Carson became an American icon and remained so even after his retirement in 1992.
- Creates energy: Johnny Carson has Jupiter and Moon in Purva Ashadha in the 3H of written communication. Before completing his Bachelor of Arts degree, Carson did a senior thesis for his broadcasting professor, William Dempsey. His 1949 senior thesis was entitled “How to Write Comedy for Radio,” which he recorded on a reel-to-reel tape. The 45-minute recording was a scholarly examination (leader) of the techniques and devices that radio comedy writers used to construct the jokes and gags in comedy radio shows. Using bits from several well-known comedians, such as Jack Benny and Bob Hope, Carson illustrated the various techniques used to write comedy, which he later effectively used in television through his “Tonight Show” monologues.
- Patience and Composure: “Everything comes to an end; nothing lasts forever,” Mr. Carson had said quietly to an NBC news crew in the studio parking lot on Thursday, before getting into his sleek white Corvette after taping his last regular show. “Thirty years is enough. It’s time to get out while you’re still working on top of your game, while you’re still working well.” Through the week, Mr. Carson appeared to be keeping a tight grip on his composure, with only a few momentary lapses. ‘Thirty Years Is Enough’
- Apas: The Water element: “ Johnny Carson has ‘ice (Saturn aspecting Moon and Jupiter in Purva Ashadha) water in his veins’ people used to say. Johnny Carson had developed the reputation of being cold and aloof because he was uncomfortable with people he didn’t know
- Empathizes with the masses: “America’s late-night pal is not exactly an open book. In fact, while Carson may be the man who has logged more hours in our bedrooms than many a lover. Off-camera he has always been obsessed with avoiding the limelight
- Tender Hearted: “Johnny Carson always had a tender heart for his home state, and his alma mater. The television icon who died in January made numerous gifts to Nebraska entities – including $11 million since November, 2004. In July, 2005, UNL received an additional $5 million from
Carson’s estate. “Johnny Carson never forgot where he came from, or that the university played an important role in the development of his many talents in those early years,”
