Chart Analysis:
- Osho Rajneesh

Is there anyone else with more extraordinary magnetism radiating from their eyes? Is there any other guru who combines magnetic eyes with brilliant communication? Does any other guru (with magnetic eyes & brilliant communication) live in an environment more serene than the Oregon Ashram of OSHO? Was any other guru fawned (pun intended) on more? Is there any other guru who propagated the consumption of Soma (he is said to have used Nitrous Oxide for nirvana) and the attendant behaviour associated with Soma? If there is/was ever a Mrigashira, it was, undoubtedly, OSHO!
Background:
Osho had his Lagna in Mrigashira – II. His 8th H of deep mysticism is crowded with Mars, Saturn, Mercury, Moon and Venus. His Lagna is close to 0 degrees Gemini – the zone of Soma and his Lagna Lord, Venus, is on the opposite side of the zodiac, representing poison or death. Osho’s teachings are about living the life with Soma (he said: ‘the real question is not whether life exists after death, the real question is where you are alive before death”) but he was poisoned to death (or so the claim is).
Interpretation:
- Changeable/Fickle/Moveable/Restless: Osho was born as Chandra Mohan Jain. He later changed his name to Acharya Rajneesh. He later became Bhawan Shree Rajneesh. This was later changed to Osho Rajneesh and finally to just Osho. (name change is successful if Mercury is connected with the Lagna, as it is in this case)
- Passive Aggression: This is a Nakshatra of passive aggression since it is a Mridu Nakshatra (soft) but has the energy of Mars. The followers of Osho conducted bio-terror attacks (via salmonella poisoning of the fish in the county to influence the county election results) on the people of the region. According to Wikipedia, this was carried out by his followers and later claimed to have been without the knowledge of Osho.
- Illusion: The theme of illusion is strong in this asterism because of the story of Mareecha or the Golden Deer. Osho teachings were about how human beings’ social conditioning creates an illusory sense of identity, which prevents them from realizing the Buddha in them.
- To weave or produce clothing: Osho was born to a cloth merchant. A turban, an intricately embroidered robe, a cup of Soma and a hypnotic smile make Osho look
like the Sultan of the Universe. Osho, incidentally, was called a ‘well-dressed yogi’.
- Real Estate: Osho had a 6-acre ashram in Pune’s most upmarket Koregaon Park. Later, he had a 260-square-kilometre ashram in Oregon, USA (the size of Singapore, for comparison, is about 718 square kilometres).
- To chase or be chased: Osho was chased out of Pune. He, therefore, moved to the USA, where he was chased out on various charges. He then moved to India, Nepal, Crete, Switzerland, Sweden, England, Canada, Israel, Spain, Uruguay, and the West Indies, from where he was either chased out or not even given permission to land.

- Brooke Shields

Doe-eyed Brooke Shields in a promotion for Allergan’s FDA-approved eyelash-enhancing treatment. Given the green light in December 2008 as a treatment for Hypotrichosis of the eyelashes (yes, people with sparse lashes have an official condition), this prescription drug has inspired disbelief and devotion and is promoted by this blue-eyed Mrigashira influenced (body part eyes and eyebrow) star!
Background:
Brooke Shield’s Taurus, the 9th H, is crowded with the Moon, Venus, Mercury, Rahu, Sun, and Jupiter. The Moon and Venus are in Mrigashira, undoubtedly influenced by the Sun, Jupiter, and Rahu in Rohini.
Interpretation:
- Traits of Fine Arts on the Venus side: Not only is the Moon on the Venus side of Mrigashira, but Venus itself is in Mrigashira. She is a reputed actor who has been acting since she was 11 months old.
- Marital Issues linked with suspicion: Brooke Shields is linked with Michael Jackson, Liam Neeson, Prince Albert of Monaco, and Michael Bolton. Shields married tennis star Andre Agassi in April 1997. Less than two years later, the two were separated (as Andre Agassi was suspicious of her involvement with co-stars), and the marriage ended in divorce. In April 2001, Shields married Suddenly Susan writer Chris Henchy.
- Timidity: Timidity is a trait of Mrigashira because the Deer is timid. While it is unlikely that Brooke Shields was timid, she does talk about low self-esteem (related to being timid) till she was 22. She also suffered from Post-Partum depression, which mimics timidity
- To weave or produce clothing: As one of the world’s most recognizable movie stars, when she was just 16, she managed without much help from the ‘basis below’ of this asterism. She became well known for her roles in The Blue Lagoon, Pretty Baby and others. Perhaps it was the influence of Rahu on the Lagna (with Gk and Md) or the influence of the animal symbol of Mrigashira!
- Real Estate: “It was in 2013 that Brooke purchased her lovely Southampton farmhouse. Then Brooke got out the dream-house file she’d been keeping for years and set to work. The result is a colourful, comfy family home for herself, her husband, Chris Henchy, and daughters Rowan and Grier. Brooke did all the decorating herself”. Brooke says, “I love tag and estate sales, flea markets, auctions. I can envision the transformation of anything.”
- To chase or be chased: By her admission, Brooke Shields ‘chased’ John F. Kennedy Jr., Liam Neeson, Prince Albert of Monaco, Michael Bolton, George Michael, and Michael Jackson (she uses the term ‘platonic’ only for Jackson), Dean Cain, Andre Agassi (she also married him) and Chris Henchy (she married him too – after Andre Agassi)

- William Yeats Butler

Background:
Modern readers increasingly believe that Yeats is our language’s most significant modern poet (Mrigashira on the Gemini side showing traits of communication/writing). Important influences on his early adulthood included the occultist Madame Blavatsky. In 1889, he met the beautiful actress and Irish nationalist Maud Gonne; his long and frustrated love for her (the chase of the Mrigashira: she refused to marry him) would inspire some of his best work. Yeats’s work involved a complex attempt to unite his poetic, nationalist, and occult interests (spiritual pursuits on the Gemini side of Mrigshira).
Interpretation:
- The spiritual power-point (Soma) at 0 degrees Gemini: WB Yeats’s Sun is precisely 0 degrees Gemini, the spiritual point of the zodiac. Yeats had a lifelong interest in mysticism, spiritualism, occultism and astrology. He read extensively on the subjects throughout his life, became a member of the paranormal research organisation “The Ghost Club” (in 1911) and was significantly influenced by the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg. As early as 1892, he wrote: “If I had not made magic my constant study, I could not have written a single word of my Blake book, nor would Countess Kathleen ever have come to exist. The mystical life is the centre of all that I do and all that I think and all that I write.” His mystical interests—also inspired by a study of Hinduism under the Theosophist Mohini Chatterjee and the occult—formed much of the basis of his late poetry. However, some critics, such as W. H. Auden, criticized this aspect of Yeats’s work; Auden called it the “deplorable spectacle of a grown man occupied with the mumbo-jumbo of magic and the nonsense of India.” (Oops!)
- Obsessive infatuation: Like Sita developed an obsessive infatuation with the Golden Deer, WB Yeats too developed an obsessive infatuation with 23-year-old Maud Gonne – an English heiress. His love for Maud Gonne remained unrequited (the chase didn’t lead anywhere – Yeats proposed to Gonne in 1899, 1900, 1901 and 1916). Maud Gonne ( the Golden Deer) had a significant and lasting effect on his poetry and life thereafter – like the incident of the Golden Deer had a lasting impact on the life of Lord Raama
- The Chase: After the chase gone awry with Maud Gonne, WB Yeat ‘chased’ her daughter from a previous marriage. The subsequent chase included Georgie Hyde-Lees. Though he married Georgie Hyde-Lees, he later had romantic relationships with other women and possibly other affairs. Georgie herself wrote to her husband, “When you are dead, people will talk about your love affairs, but I shall say nothing, for I will remember how proud you were.”
- Soma Drinkers: Soma, or the elixir of life, was delivered to WB Yeats via the Steinach operation, which was performed on 6 April 1934 by Norman Haire. Yeats is said to have discovered a second puberty after this (Soma) procedure.
